THIRTY-FOUR patients infected with coronavirus were discharged yesterday from the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center (GABMMC).

GABMMC director Dr. Ted Martin said 25 of these patients have chronic kidney disease.

“They are on maintenance hemodialysis at the Flora V. Valisno de Siojo Dialysis Center where treatments are provided for free by the city government. Thank you Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center!” Moreno said.

Moreno commended Martin, doctors, nurses and medical personnel of BAGMMC “for a job well done.”

Moreno also provided the patients transportation services which regularly fetch them from their houses going to the hospital and back to their residences after each dialysis session.

Last month, Martin said 42 of the more than 300 patients undergoing free dialysis at the GABMMC were tested positive for COVID-19. The youngest is 16 while the eldest is 70 years old.

Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna converted the Tondo Sports Complex into a quarantine facility for exclusive use of COVID patients.  The facility was manned by personnel from the GABMMC and the Manila Health Department under Dr. Arnold Pangan.

Meanwhile, the Manila Police District (MPD) headed by Gen. Rolly Miranda arrested 182 persons for violation of Ordinance No. 8644 or the Mandatory Use of Face Mask in Public, while 48 were nabbed for violating the curfew ordinance.
