4 arrested over P20.2M shabu

A BUY-BUST operation in Valenzuela City conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Friday resulted in the arrest of a Chinese national and his three Filipino associates after they conspired to sell some three kilograms of shabu worth P20.2 million to a poseur, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino announced yesterday.

The official identified the arrested suspects as Chinese national Wu Lianlai and his local contacts Florencio Serdon, Sunbenny Marquez Jr. and Christopher dela Cruz.

Aquino said that the four were placed under arrest during the anti-narcotics operation at no. 09-B Cadena de Amor Street in Bahayang Pag-asa, Barangay Maysan, Valenzuela City at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Members of the PDEA Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao led the operation in coordination with the PDEA National Capital Region and Special Enforcement Service, said the official.

Aquino said that the four will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

He added that follow-up operations are still underway to identify and arrest the other associates of the suspects particularly the main source of the huge volume of drugs recovered from their possession.
