September 25, 2019

FOUR wanted fugitives from the People’s Republic of China (PROC) were arrested in the cities of Pasay and Taguig by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

It was learned from BI port operations division chief Grifton Medina that one of the aliens was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 while three others were collared at their residence in Bonifacio Global City (BGC)  in Taguig.

Arrested at the airport last September 13 was  Liang Yang, 29, who is wanted for forgery in his country.  He was apprehended at the NAIA 2 terminal upon his arrival and was excluded hours later via a Xiamen Air flight to China where he is now detained and undergoing criminal prosecution.

The Chinese embassy said Yang, whose passport was already revoked, was issued an arrest warrant by the municipal public security bureau of Qinhuangdao City in Hebei province, China due to the crime of forgery of company seals.

BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. meanwhile said  Shi Chun Tan, Cai Rong Li and Li Shao Bai, were arrested last September 23 inside a high-rise condominium tower at the BGC.

The arresting agents were armed with a mission order which was issued by the bureau at  the request of the Chinese government.

‘We were informed that these three nationals are wanted for kidnapping and obstruction of justice, hence they will be deported for being undesirable aliens,’Manahan said.

Manahan added that the said aliens’ passports were already cancelled and that they will be blacklisted and banned from re-entering the Philippines.
