FOUR drug suspects were nabbed by the Manila Police District (MPD) after suspected cocaine and Ecstasy were found on them during a buy-bust operation the other night.
Acting MPD director Senior Supt. Vicente Danao Jr. identified the four as Daniel Concepcion, 28, a bank teller, of Caloocan City; Richard Martinez, 39, a Grab driver, of Caloocan City; Michael Villasanta, 33, a contractor, of Diliman, Quezon City, and Rakesh Bhogwani, 25, a businessman, of Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig City.
The MPD-Ermita Police Station (PS-5) said the suspects were arrested at 11:30 p.m. in front of a convenience store on Katipunan Avenue, Loyola Heights, Quezon City, during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of MPD-Station 5 and the MPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU).
Police received a tipp regarding the suspects’ illegal drug activities so that a buy-bust operation was carried out.
Confiscated from them were two packets of powdered substance suspected to be cocaine, 20 pieces of green Ecstasy tablets, a pack of 80 green Ecstasy tablets, two packs containing 20 blue triangular Ecstasy tablets, a pack with five blue oval Ecstasy tablets and 12 gray triangular tablets, a pack with six gray capsules and five packs containing 10 gray capsules, all with an estimated value of P350,000.
Also confiscated from them were three vehicles and an undetermined amount of buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old was shot dead in Tondo, Manila early yesterday morning.
Police said the death of Rocel Sumaway, a member of ‘Sputnik Gang’ and residing in Sta. Ana Street in Tondo, was drug-related. He died of a gunshot wound in the neck while the suspect fled on foot and escaped.
A witness told the police that at around 2:20 a.m., she was at the Aroma Compound in Tondo, Manila, when she heard a gunshot and then saw a man running in front of the Temporary Housing on Aroma Compound in Vitas, Tondo.
