AGENTS of the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Drug Enforcement Unit on Friday morning arrested in a buy-bust operation in Sta. Ana, Manila five suspected drug dealers and seized P1.2 million worth of shabu, NCRPO chief Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar announced yesterday.
The official identified the five arrested suspects as Marquel Cunanan alias ‘Ama,’26 and Rachel Abiva, 39, both residents of no. 2337 Waling-Waling Street, Singalong District; Noriel Brun alias ‘Mini-Mini, 33, of no. 2427 C. Zafiro St., Barangay 767, Zone 83 in San Andres Bukid; Michael Ramos alias ‘Miko,’29, of no. 2296 Tramo St. in Pasay City; and Francisco Prudente III alias ‘Koko,’ 29, of no. 1927 Tramo St. in Pasay.
Eleazar said that members of the NCRPO-RDEU in coordination with the Manila Police District Station 6 arrested the suspects during an anti-narcotics operation inside the house of Brun 1:30 a.m. Friday.
He said that an undercover officer managed to buy 100 grams of shabu from Cunanan and Brun leading to the arrest of the two.
Recovered from their possession were the drugs and P200,000 in boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.
The three other suspects were arrested in a follow-up operation which resulted in the recovery of another 70 grams of the so-called poor man’s cocaine, assorted drug paraphernalia and a gray Toyota Avanza.
All suspects are now being held at the NCRPOP headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Eleazar.
The official said he has ordered follow-up operations to identify and arrest the source of the drugs taken from the five.
