A 51-year-old man who reportedly has a pending drug case in court was shot dead by six motorcycle-riding men at the corner of Simon and Algeciras Streets near the railroad tracks of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Sampaloc, Manila the other night.
P/Chief master Sergeant Charles John Duran of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section reported that victim Leo Pilapil, of No. 1506 Algeciras St., Sampaloc, was killed at 10:52 p.m.
He was said to have been just on standby in the said area when the suspects arrived and fired at him repeatedly, speeding off toward Cristobal Street only after making sure that he was already dead.
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
It was learned that the victim is merely out on bail in connection with a case of possession of illegal drugs he is facing.
