THE City Government of Navotas recorded on Friday evening a total of 69 additional confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 and one death while no reported recovery from patients confined in hospitals and isolation areas.
Mayor Toby Tiangco said most of recorded new cases of Covid-19 in the city were household members who got infected when the virus found its way into their homes.
As of Friday evening, the city of Navotas recorded a total of 885 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 324 patients recovered and 59 deaths.
The city mayor said despite the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, he still received reports of teenagers who continued to play basketball on the street and ignored health warnings and the call of the government for vigilance against the virus.
“Kahit siguro ilan pa ang magpositibo, kung wala namang pakialam ang iba nating mga kababayan, siguradong lolobo ang dami ng ating mga pasyente, “ Mayor Tiangco said.
The mayor reiterated that fighting the spread of coronavirus does not only depend on the government’s action but each and everyone have its role in order to end the crisis brought about by COVID-19.
