Eight suspected fixers at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) were arrested by the police during an entrapment operation in front of LTO branch in Bgy. Kaligayahan, Novaliches yesterday.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Police Chief Superintendent Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., identified the suspects as Ruben San Jose Jr., 41, Ronel Payonga, 36, Archie Sesbreño, 45, Renato Manlangit, 34, Dexter Tequin, 23, all of Bgy. Gulod, Ariel San Jose, 25, of Bgy. Kaligayahan, Alexander Fiesta, 43 y/o, of Norzagaray, Bulacan and Leonil Macatuggal, 33, of Bagong Silangan, Caloocan City.
The report from the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) showed that at around 10:20 a.m., on Tuesday, the suspects were arrested outside the LTO premises after receiving money dusted with ultraviolet powder for facilitating an LTO transaction, a violation of Section 4 of RA 9485 otherwise known as Anti-Fixing Law.
The operation stemmed from a report by a concerned citizen and a newspaper article citing the presence of fixers near the LTO premises in Novaliches.
