THE National Bureau of Investigation formally filed criminal charges against an American woman who tried to sneak out a six-month-old infant inside her oversized sling bag.

Jennifer Erin Talbot was charged with violation of Republic Act 9208 (The Anti-trafficking in Persons Act), RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), and Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code (Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention). She was presented before the Office of the Prosecutor of Pasay City for inquest proceeding.

NBI Director Dante Gierran said the child’s biological mother Maricris Cempron Dulap was also charged with RA 7610. Dulap remains at large as of this writing.

Talbot was about to board her flight to US via Narita, Japan when a female airline staff member asked for the passports and boarding passes for her and the baby, whom she covered with a sweater but whose feet got exposed.
