ANOTHER barangay captain was shot and wounded in front of his son by motorcycle-riding suspects Tuesday evening in Pasay City.
Reynaldo Flores, 57, barangay captain of Barangay 157, was hit in the lower left ear. The bullet exited in his upper right lip.
Pasay City police chief Col. Bernard Yang said the victim and his son Carlos were standing on Gil Puyat Avenue, in Bgy. 10, when the unidentified armed suspects on board a motorcycle and wearing full-face helmet arrived at around 7 p.m. The backrider immediately opened fire at the victim.
Last Monday evening, Chairman Robustiano Miro of Barangay 116 was shot and wounded by a lone gunman in front of barangay hall located at the corner of Dimasalang Street and Dimasalang Interior at around 11:28 p.m.
Pasay City police homicide investigators are still conducting a follow-up operation to determine if the failed attacks against the two barangay officials were related.
