Belmonte backs 2 of DU30’s LGU directives

QUEZON City mayor Joy Belmonte has expressed full support for two important concerns President Duterte mentioned during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) which he wanted local government officials to accomplish.

Belmonte is referring to Duterte’s directive in doing business with ease and, second, the intensification of measures to protect the environment.

Belmonte said making business transactions easier and faster would indeed invite more investors to come and pour capital that would eventually generate more jobs and income for her constituents.

In President Duterte’s SONA, he urged local government units to implement the Ease of Doing Business Act, where the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) were recently signed.

Business permits for low-risk businesses will be processed and issued in one or two days while permits for the high-risk businesses will be released within a week.

Meanwhile, Belmonte said that the President’s call in intensifying measures to protect the environment has already been her commitment in making QC a green and sustainable city.

Belmonte said a program called the Joy of Urban Farming encourages students in public schools to plant vegetables in the school yard.
