THREE persons including a 58-year-old British national were arrested during an anti-narcotics operation in a high-class condominium unit on Friday in Makati City.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chair Director General Aaron N. Aquio said the sting resulted in the confiscation of some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P490,000, four bottles with droppers containing gamma-butyrolactone popularly known as GBL, a recreational depressant worth P150,000.
Aquino identified the arrested suspects as British national Elden Kent Chamberlain, suspected drug den maintainer Bruce Patrick Castro Alabado, 29, at Barangay Bell-Air in Makati City, and Joseph Ryan Yabut Lumba.
The official described Alabado as a high-profile drug personality.
The suspects were arrested during a buy-bust conducted by members of the PDEA National Capital Region, the PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service and the Southern Police District at Alabado’s unit.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs), Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), and Section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165.
