Bureau of Immigration to deport 2 Chinese women in cybercrime

TWO Chinese women wanted by authorities in Beijing for cybercrime are set to be deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

BI-Fugitive Search Unit chief Bobby Raquepo identified the fugitives as Hong Webin, 34, and Li Cheng, 36.  They were arrested last Thursday at their condominium unit in Mandaluyong City pursuant to a mission order which was issued upon receiving information from the Chinese embassy in Manila that the women are wanted in China for distributing obscene materials via the Internet and engaging in illegal propaganda.

Hong and Li hid in the country since October last year when they arrived in Manila as tourists.

Raquepo said the suspects have become undocumented aliens as their passports were already cancelled by the Chinese government.
