A TRIKER was pinned to a bloody pulp and died in a hospital while his sexagenarian passenger was seriously injured when their tricycle was hit by a speeding passenger bus yesterday morning in Caloocan City.
Dante Ignacio of 7 11th Avenue, A. Bonifacio, Balintawak, Quezon City succumbed to severe head and body injuries while undergoing treatment at the Manila Central University (MCU) hospital. Ignacio’s passenger, Flordelisa Bintad, 64, of Bagbag, Novaliches sustained injuries in the body and was still under observation at the same hospital.
Caloocan police chief P/Col. Noel Flores ordered a manhunt against the driver of Raven Bus Transport (ACZ-4374) identified as Jonathan Boque who immediately fled on foot after the accident.
Investigation showed the tricycle was traveling 10th Avenue heading towards Rizal Avenue while the bus was traversing along B. Serrano coming from C-5 Road and heading towards EDSA when the mishap occurred at around 5:40 a.m.
Upon reaching the corner of B. Serrano and 10th Avenue, the front portion of the bus hit the left side of the tricycle, Ignacio was pinned between the two vehicles.
Multiple charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injury, damage to properties and violation of Section 55 of R.A 4136 will be filed against Boque before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.
