POLICE arrested a 37-year-old butcher after he stabbed and wounded a market helper he caught sleeping at their meat shop inside Pasay Public Market Wednesday evening in Pasay City.
Ronel Cresencio, of 421 Tengco St. Bgy. 107, was nabbed by duty security guard Jemlani Bolay-ug, 46, who witnessed the incident while making his rounds inside the public market at around 6:30 p.m..
Investigation conducted by P/Cpl. Pedro Durian showed that earlier, Cresencio and an unidentified tricycle driver figured in a heated altercation after they bumped each other at the entrance gate of the market.
At the height of their argument, Cresencio pulled out a kitchen knife and chased the triker who managed to run away and evade the attack.
The suspect, who was still furious, went inside the market and saw the victim sleeping at his meat shop.
The suspect turned his ire on the helper and stabbed the victim on the right wrist.
