FORMER Quezon City Rep. Ismael ‘Chuck’ G. Mathay III yesterday called on yesterday on the citizenry, including registered voters in Quezon City to embrace ‘unity’, instead of being divided in the forthcoming elections and be one, solid force in heading for honest and credible polls.
Mathay, son of the late three-term QC mayor lawyer Ismael ‘Mel’ A. Mathay, Jr., former president of Philippine Constitution Association (PHILCONSA) and Metro Manila vice governor, said. “it is a matter of sincerity in offering public service to our constituents and not all money that counts, contrary to perceptions of several members of body politic’’, the young Mathay pointed out.
Mathay, vowed to defend residents’ right for reasonable and ‘conscionable’ taxation on both residential and commercial sectors. Residents cry and describe the excessive realty and other hurting taxes as ‘calvary’. ‘We have to delete this calvary in the life of our constituents. God permits with his grace, and we make the mayorship, this is a top priority in my reform program’, stressed Mathay.
He vowed to launch a realistic project for ‘free consultation, hospitalization, with quality medicines, laboratory tests, and dialysis center for senior citizens with free medicines with monthly food allowance’.
Mathay’s running mate underKDP is former 2nd district Councilor Rodderick Paulate, a popular movie-tv personality.
