Cops hunt driver’s shooter

POLICE are hunting down a 38-year-old caretaker who shot and wounded a Grab driver and his son following a traffic altercation Wednesday afternoon in Las Piñas City.

Akmad Abubakar of 49B Doña Manuela Avenue, Doña Manuela Subdivision, Bgy. Pamplona 3 is now the object of police manhunt after he shot and wounded Grab driver Marlou Baisa, 53, and his 24-year old son Justine, both of No. 5 Magnolina St. Doña Manuela Subdivision over a traffic altercation along Doña Manuela Avenue.

Las Piñas police chief Col. Simnar Gran said the elder Baisa sustained bullet wounds in the body and was declared in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Perpetual Help Dalta Medical Center while his son who was hit in the leg was in stable condition.

Investigation showed that earlier at around 3:45 p.m., Justine was driving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along Doña Manuela Avenue when a delivery tricycle, driven by Abubakar, almost hit his vehicle.

A confrontation ensued prompting Justine to go home and call his father for help not knowing that the suspect was armed with a firearm.

When Justine and his father returned to the area, the suspect repeatedly shot the victims then fled on foot towards an unknown direction.
