Cops nabbed big-time drug pusher, seize P1-M worth of shabu

A SUSPECTED big-time drug pusher was arrested and seized from at least P1 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation Sunday night in Marikina City.

Marikina Police chief Col. Restituto Arcanghel identified the suspect as Michael Ongtengco alias Mike, 48, of No.14 Lucia St., Sta. Teresita Village, Bgy. Malanday, Marikina City.

Arcanghel said members of Marikina Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) collared Ongtengco on Magdalene Street in Bgy. Malanday at around 8:20 p.m.

He said a surveillance was conducted based on information that Ongtengco was actively involved in peddling rugs in the city.

Police seized from the suspect at least 153 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1, 040, 400 and drug paraphernalias.

Ongtengco is now under the custody of Marikina Police custodial facility and was charged for violation of RA 9165.

Archanghel said the operation against the suspect was in accordance with the directive of Eastern Police District (EPD) director Brig Gen. Johnson Almazan to intensify anti-drug operations despite quarantine period.
