Cops raid firm selling fake liquefied petroleum gas

THE Northern Police District (NPD) raided an alleged illegal refilling station of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and arrested two personnel Thursday evening in Caloocan City.

By virtue of a search warrant issued by Caloocan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 123, elements of NPD Special Operations Unit (DSOU) raided the Zach Marketing located along Tulingan St., Bgy. 14, Libis Espina, at around 7:30 p.m.

The search warrant was issued based on a complaint filed by Isla LPG represented by one Jonathan Dulay against Zach Marketing for allegedly refilling and selling fake LPG.

Elements of DSOU arrested the cashier identified as Mariecon Balicao, 19 and Elimar Matero, 29, driver, both residents of Tulingan St., Bgy. 14, Libis Espina.

Police were able to confiscate six pieces of 11 kilogram of Solane LPG cylinders, an Isuzu elf closed van used for delivery and a logbook.

Charges of unfair competition under R.A 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines will be filed against the arrested suspects while authorities are still conducting a follow-up operation for possible arrest of the owner of the company.
