AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group have rescued another Chinese tourist-turned victim of a casino loan shark syndicate in the country, PNP-AKG director, Colonel Jonnel C. Estomo announced yesterday.
In a report to PNP chief, General Oscar D. Albayalde, the official said that three Chinese nationals involved in the kidnapping of Zheng Jin Song, a 23-year old native of Quan Zhounanan, Fujian, China were arrested during the operation in Parañaque City last Tuesday evening.
According to Estomo, a security manager of Solaire Resort and Casino reported to them the abduction of the victim who was billeted at 15H Oceanaire Tower 3, Sunshine Drive, Pasay City.
It turned out that at around 11 a.m. last Monday, the victim was playing baccarat in Solaire when he was approached and invited by the suspects to play with them at AG 88 VIP area of the said casino.
Five hours later, the suspects lent P203,760 to the victim on condition that he will pay them 20 percent for every winning bet.
However, when the victim lost all his borrowed money, he was brought by the suspects to Room No. 727 of Bay Tower No. 1, ASEAN Avenue, Entertaiment City in Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City where they detained him illegally.
Estomo said they likewise discovered that after paying the suspect 28,300 RMB, the victim managed to call up his friend to inform him of his ordeal.
Estomo said in coordination with Solaire security officers, his men rescued the victim inside 727 Bay Tower and arrested the suspects identified as Wu Kun, 26; Ling Yanqing, 35, and Xia Yugui, 34, all residents of Jiangxi, China.
All three were inquested for kidnapping-for-ransom with serious illegal detention before Department of Justice Senior Assistant Prosecutor Philip dela Cruz.
