AUTHORITIES are now conducting an in-depth investigation into the death of three men, including a 43-year-old businessman, in separate shooting incidents perpetrated by criminals on motorcycles in Caloocan City.
Caloocan police chief Col. Noel Flores ordered his men to launch an operation for the arrest of the killers of Marlon Rapiz, 37, of 44 Sociodad St., Bgy. 151, businessman Carlo de Guzman, 43, of Blk 20 Lot 3 Villa Roma II, Saog Marilao, Bulacan and his companion identified only as “Jason Kid” of Valenzuela City.
Rapiz, according to the report submitted by Cpl. Aldrin Mathew to the office of Col. Flores, was walking on North Diversion Road when two men on a motorcycle blocked his path near the corner of Progreso St., Bgy. 154 Friday evening and shot him repeatedly killing him instantly.
After the killing, the suspects sped away.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, De Guzman and Jason Kid were killed by riding-in-tandem criminals on a black and blue motorcycle in an ambush a few meters away from the Caloocan Cockpit Arena in Diamond St., Bgy. 166, Caybiga.
A delayed police report showed that while the victims were driving along Diamond St. around 11:15 p.m. after coming from the cockfighting arena, when the suspects who had been tailing them peppered them with bullets in front of Lina’s Grill.
The driver of the victims’ Mitsubishi Adventure van died on the spot while his companion tried to escape but was chased by the suspects and when cornered was shot repeatedly.
Elements of the Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 6 led by Maj. Harold Aaron Melgar immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to arrest the suspects. Investigators are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killings.
