LOCAL oil firms yesterday announced a small price cut for diesel and kerosene, but an increase for gasoline effective 6 a.m. today.
Major oil firms Petron Corporation, Pilipinas Shell and Chevron Philippines will implement a 10-centavo per liter rollback for diesel, kerosene by 35 centavos per liter and a price increase of 10 centavos per liter for gasoline.
Independent oil companies PTT Philippines, Eastern Petroleum Philippines, Total Philippines, Petro Gazz, Unioil, Phoenix Petroleum and Flying V will also implement a mixed rollback-price hike moves.
The Department of Energy data showed that the prevailing retail prices of petroleum products in Metro Manila are: between P49.84 to P54.69 for gasoline; between P43.44 to P46.33 for diesel; and P51.09 for kerosene.
Energy sources said the price adjustment implemented by local oil firms was based on the current international market condition.
