A driver and his companion-helper were injured when the 22-wheeler truck they were in and which was carrying softdrinks, turned on its side in Ermita, Manila, yesterday morning.
The two are now in stable condition and as of this writing, only the driver had been identified -- Bernie Vidal.
Probers at the Manila Police District (MPD) said the accident took place at around 5:30 a.m. at the foot of the Ayala Boulevard in Ermita, Manila.
The truck (DXP-748) was cruising along Taft Avenue going to Finance Road when it suddenly turned on its side in front of a gasoline station, injuring the two.
Notably, the softdrinks were intact as they were all inside the container van.
The accident caused traffic in the area, prompting the temporary closure of Ayala Blvd. until a crane arrived to remove the truck.
