Drug-peddling bgy watchman, pal die in Pasay encounter

A barangay watchman and his cohort involved in peddling illegal drugs were killed in an encounter with authorities yesterday morning in Pasay City.

Pasay City police chief Senior Supt. Noel Flores said watchman of Bgy. 148, Zone 16, Feliciano Millos and Virgilio Villablanca Jr., of Bagong Silang, Poblacion, Camarines Sur, died on the spot from bullet wounds in their bodies.

Earlier at around 9:25 a.m., elements of Tactical Motorcycle Reaction Unit (TMRU) led by Senior Insp. Neil Deveraturda were conducting foot patrol along Aurora Boulevard when a concerned citizen approached and told them about an ongoing drug transactions inside Sgt. Mariano Public Cemetery located at the corner of Sgt. Mariano St. and Aurora Boulevard in Bgy. 148.

When elements of TMRU proceeded to the area, they were met with a volley of gunfire from the suspects, forcing them to return fire.

After a brief exchange of gunfire, the drug personalities laid dead while other companions managed to escape.

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered at the crime scene three plastic sachets containing undetermined quantity of shabu, Magnum caliber .22 with seven live bullets, a cal. .45, a cal. .9mm pistol and several drug paraphernalia.

According to Barangay Executive Officer Gregorio Valdez Jr., Millos was allegedly responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the public cemetery.
