A DRUG suspect who posed as a police officer was killed when he tried to shoot it out with lawmen during a buy-bust operation Saturday evening in Caloocan City.

Jimverick Infante alias “Jimboy” was still in athletic police uniform with “PULIS” marking when he engaged lawmen in a shooting at an abandoned compound at No. 33 Maraluhat St. Bgy. 179 in Amparo, at around 10:45 p.m.

Prior to the incident, elements of Intelligence Branch led by Maj. Jonathan Olveña received a tip from an informant about the suspect’s illegal activities including selling of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.

After the information was verified, Maj. Olveña and his men conducted a buy-bust operation but while in the middle of transaction, the suspect sensed that he was dealing with an undercover cop, pushed the police poseur-buyer, drew his firearm fired towards the police poseur-buyer but missed. The policemen retaliated and killed the suspect instantly.
