Eastern Police District nabs no. 2 high value drug target

THE Eastern Police District’s  newly formed District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) announced the arrest of its No. 2 high-value target as its first accomplishment.

This developed after the entire 15-man DDEU was earlier relieved by NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar after one of its members, Cpl. Mario Quibete, was caught on March 5 extorting money from a woman whose relative was arrested in an anti-drug operation.

Combined teams of DDEU headed by P/Col Henrix Mangaldan and District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) chief P/Major Darwin Guererro arrested suspect Perlita Arias, 42, resident of No. 10 GSIS Tramo, Bgy.Rosario, Pasig City.

Arias is listed as EPD’s No.2 HVT on illegal drugs.

The operation was conducted after weeks of surveillance of the female suspect.

She was nabbed in a buy-bust operation at around 7 pm along C.Raymundo Ave, Bgy. Caniogan, Pasig City a few meters away from the Pasig Police Station.

Authorities were only able to seize 15 pieces of heat sealed transparent sachets of suspected shabu, cash, two cellphones  and the buy-bust money.

Police said the recovered drugs had an estimated street value of P7,500.

Authorities also said that Arias can dispose of around 50 grams of shabu per week.

Arias failed to surrender under PNP’s Oplan Tokhang and continued her illegal drug trade.
