TWO of Eastern Samar’s most wanted persons were captured by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the National Capital Region Police Office in their hideout in Caloocan City on Thursday afternoon, officials announced yesterday.
Oscar Ayaton Montes and Eddieflor Suyo Montes, tagged as the no. 1 and no. 3 most wanted criminals in Eastern Samar were arrested inside 1294 Cadena de Amor Street in Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, said CIDG-NCR chief, Colonel Arnold Thomas C. Ibay Jr.
Ibay said the 65-year old Oscar’ and Eddieflor, 27, both ‘matador’ or butchers in a local market were natives of Zumarraga, Samar who fled to Metro Manila after being involved in a murder case in the province.
The official said members of the Northern CIDG led by Lieutenant Col. Dennis Rodriguez, the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division headed by Captain Narrolt Tan and the Eastern Samar Regional Intelligence Unit 8 headed by Major Jovito Madriaga arrested the suspects who did not offer any resistance after being surrounded by officers.
According to Ibay, the two suspects were believed to be members of the Bobby Baliber Waray-Waray Group engaged in robbery-holdup and gun-for-hire activities in Metro Manila and Calabarzon region and have long been the target of a CIDG and NCRPO manhunt.
