Electrician dies as power restores too soon while fixing faulty wiring

AN electrician got killed when power supply suddenly returned while he was in the middle of fixing a faulty wiring inside the International Container Terminal Services Incorporated Compound at the MICT complex in Port Area, Manila, the other night.

Victim Merlino Rapacon, 47, of Blk. 33, Lot 39, Sarmiento Homes, Bgy. Muzon, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, was rushed to the hospital but did not make it.

Det. Aldeen Legaspi of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at around 9:30 p.m.

The victim was reportedly busy fixing a faulty electrical wiring of a ‘Twin Lift Spreader’ when its power was suddenly restored, pinning him down and killing him instantly.
