A former policeman was shot dead by a lone gunman wearing face mask inside a resto-bar Sunday evening in Pasay City.
Joselito Lopez, 46, a former member of Pasay City Police and resident of Apelo Cruz Ext. Malibay died on the spot from single bullet wound in the head while the still unidentified gunman immediately boarded a wating getaway motorcycle driven by his cohort and sped off towards Protacio Street.
Pasay city police chief P/Col. Bernard Yang said a woman, identified as Arlene Israel, 31, of 455 Tramo St. EDSA who was also inside the bar was hit by a stray bullet in the left leg and was rushed to Pasay City General Hospital.
Investigation showed that while the victim was having a drinking session with his son and friends inside Cusi-Nah resto bar at 2437 Zamora St., Bgy. 95 at around 10:55 p.m., a man, who was searing a bull cap and face mask suddenly appeared and shot the victim once in the head at close range.
Elements of Pasay City Police Community Precinct (PCP) 2 led bay P/Maj. Freud Vila responded to the area conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to arrest and identify the suspects.
Col. Yang said his men are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the motive behind the killing.
