A FORMER barangay chairman was killed by two of five men aboard three motorcycles who shot him at close range inside his home and right in front of his children in Manila.
PO3 Marlon San Pedro of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section identified the victim as Buanito Buan, 57, chairman of Bgy. 849 and residing at 1415 Ilang-Ilang St., Pandacan, Manila.
Investigation showed that the victim was sleeping beside his kids when two armed men wearing bonnets barged in at around 2:15 a.m. One of the suspects, who was holding a flashlight, reportedly pushed aside the victim’s daughter after which the two shot Buan, killing him instantly.
A CCTV footage reportedly showed the five suspects’ arrival in the area, asking around where the victim lives.
Once the shooting was done, the two gunmen headed toward Quirino Avenue.
Police reportedly recovered three spent shells for .45 cal. at the victim’s room.
Information gathered also showed that men who looked like the suspects were seen lurking in the vicinity of the victim’s home last September 11.
The identities of the suspects and the motive behind the killing remain unknown.
