A former barangay chairwoman was critically wounded when riding-in-tandem cri-minals shot her in front of her house yesterday morning in Pasay City.

Gina Anteojo Catalan, 58, of 132 David St., Bgy. 23, Zone 2, was rushed by her relatives to Manila Adventist Medical Center where she underwent surgery for a bullet wound in the right lower jaw while the unidentified suspects managed to escape towards the direction of F.B. Harrison.

Investigation conducted by Insp. Allan Valdez of Pasay police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) showed that the victim was sweeping outside her house when two men on a black scooter arrived at 8:05 a.m.

The back rider, wearing a black bullcap with red shade, a black jacket and black pants pulled out a handgun and shot the victim once, hitting her in the right jaw.

The incident, according to Insp. Valdez, was caught on close circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the area.

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered empty shells for caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.

Police said the victim was the ex-wife of former Pasay City police chief Supt. Oscar Catalan.
