FORMER San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez has announced on Friday that she has recovered from the coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) disease.
Gomez’s son, former senator JV Ejercito, made the announcement on his Facebook account.
Ejercito said his mother was set to return home yesterday, Saturday, December 26, coinciding with his birthday.
“It may not be the usual best time of the year, nor the best of the birthday celebrations, but one of the best gifts was given to me today because it was an answered prayer,” Ejercito wrote on Facebook.
“My mother is finally going home today and has survived COVID,” Ejercito added.
The former senator shared in a separate Twitter post a photo of him with his mom.
Ejercito wrote: “My mom is going home. The best Birthday gift.”
Gomez, 78, served as the mayor of San Juan City from 2010 to 2019.
