A FORMER member of US Marine and Correction Officer of the Immigration Naturalization Service of the United States of America and his companion were arrested while sniffing shabu yesterday before dawn in Makati City.

Makati police assistant chief for operation Chief Insp. Gideon Ines, Jr. identified the suspects as Ronald Ang, 51, a former US Marine of Batac, Ilocos Norte and his companion Roy Allan Altar, 40, of 4056 Kalayaan Avenue, Brgy. Tejeros.

Chief Supt. Ines said that at around 2:15 a.m. yesterday he received a text message from an informant about an ongoing pot session inside Altar’s house in Kalayaan Avenue, prompting him to order the Police Community Precinct (PCP) 1 to check the veracity of the information.

When PO1 John Michael Ramos and PO1 Michelle Ann Repolles went to the area, they saw the two suspects while allegedly sniffing shabu and arrested them.

Makati police chief Senior Supt. Rogelio Simon said the policemen recovered from the suspects a plastic sachet containing .04 grams of shabu worth P1,000, .01 gram of dried marijuana leaves and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Charges for violation of Section 11, 12 and 13 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act will be filed against the suspects before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
