AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Sunday night arrested a 33-year old woman believed to be a member of a big-time drug syndicate in Metro Manila after she sold some P3.4 million worth of shabu to an undercover officer inside the Araneta Center in Quezon City, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino reported yesterday.

The official identified the suspect as Mary Ann Francisco alias ‘Madam,’ a resident of Tondo, Manila. He said that the suspect yielded a plastic bag containing around 500 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P3.4 million, a mobile phone she used during the drug transaction and the buy-bust money during the entrapment operation at the parking lot of Araneta Center in Cubao.

Follow-up operations are still underway to identify and arrest the other cohorts of the suspect who will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Aquino said.
