A 71-year-old Japanese national was found dead inside his condominium unit Friday evening in Muntinlupa City.

The body of Akio Murakami was already in a state of decomposition when discovered by a security guard in Room 505, 5th floor Vivants Plats Condominium, Parkway Avenue, Filinvest, Bgy. Alabang around 9:30 p.m.

Muntinlupa police homicide investigators SPO1 Dante Arnaldo and PO1 Ian Tabelin said  while Francisco Ibañez, 35, security guard of Vivants Plats Condominium, was on duty he smelled foul odor emanating from the victim’s room, prompting him to seek the assistance of barangay officials in the area.

Ibañez, with the assistance of barangay police, forcibly opened the door and once inside discovered the already decomposing body of the victim lying on his back in the bathroom.

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) decided to transfer the victim’s cadaver to Southern Police District (SPD) Crime Laboratory for autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

Meanwhile, Abigail Caballero reported to the police the death of her brother Alfred Caballero, 32, graphic designer,  around 4:20 p.m. in his condominium unit at 323 Star Centrum Condominium, 317 Senator Gil Puyat Avenue corner Malugay St. Bgy. Bel-Air, Makati City.

Abigail told Makati police chief Senior Supt. Rogelio Simon that earlier, his brother complained of difficulty in breathing prompting her to rub and massage his body.

When she noticed that her brother closed his eyes, she sought help from condominium security personnel and rushed him to the Makati Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Makati homicide investigator SPO3 Alfred Reyes said the victim’s body will be autopsied to determine the cause of his death.
