FOLLOWING a series of unsolved killings and shooting incidents almost daily in Caloocan city, another gruesome murder of a 14-year-old girl, believed to be sexually abused, happened Monday evening in the city.
The lifeless body of Grade 8 student Garlene Teria, with multiple stab wounds in the neck and body, was discovered by her mother Mary Jean Teria inside their house in Pangarap Village, Brgy. 192 North Caloocan after she arrived home from work past 6 p.m.
The victim was found lying face down on her bed with both feet and hands tied behind her back and her underwear was removed.
Mary Jean told police that a few meters before reaching her home, she noticed her neighbor, Diomedes Llamez come out from their house with blood on his hands and t-shirt and immediately fled when he saw her.
She added that prior to the killing, she and Llamez used to engage frequently in a heated argument until they were summoned by barangay official.
Mary Jean said Llamez, who introduced himself as the caretaker of the lot where they both live, wanted her entire family to leave the place but she refused since they were already living in the area before the suspect came.
Last Sunday evening, Mary Jean said that while they were in the middle of a conversation inside their home, she saw her neighbor peeping from the window and listening to their discussion which prompted her to confront him, resulting in their heated altercation.
When authorities went to the house of the suspect, he and his entire family already abandoned their house prompting the police to launch a manhunt operation.
Police investigators will wait for the result of the autopsy examination on the body of the victim to establish if she was sexually abused since her underwear was removed by the suspect.
