Grenade thrower in Manila resto caught

Anti-illegal drugs operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested the number 3 most wanted person of Police Regional Office (PRO) 8, Eastern Visayas during a buy-bust operation in Cubao.

Acting Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Colonel Ronnie S Montejo, identified the suspect as Roberto Asenero Bonanza, 56, native of Rawis, Lao-Ang, Northern Samar and a resident of 70-C Victory Avenue, Bgy. Tatalon, Quezon City.

A report from PLt. Col. Carlito Mantala, station commander of Fairview Police Station (PS 5) showed that they received a tip from a confidential informant that the suspect was involved in illegal drugs and gunrunning activities.

The suspect was initially arrested in a buy-bust operation on September 15, 2019 at Cyber Park 2 located in Araneta Center, Cubao.

A caliber .38 revolver without serial number and the buy-bust money were seized from the suspect.

Further investigation showed that the suspect is the Number 3 Most Wanted Person of PRO 8 for his involvement in the murder of Entoy Budas in 1991, one alias Buloy in 1998, and Romy Mahilum in 2000, all residents of Northern Samar.

The suspect was charged with violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

PCol. Montejo commended PS 5 commander Mantala and his men for the accomplishment. He said, the arrest of the gunrunning suspect will be helpful in the solution of the three murder cases and eventually giving justice to the families of the victims.
