An employee of Social Security System (SSS) who had just undergone a by-pass heart surgery died after he was hit in the nape by a man following an altercation with him inside a passenger bus in Quezon City on Thursday night.
The victim, identified as Robin Rosales, 48 years old, of Caloocan City was declared dead on arrival at the Philippine Heart Center.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Police Brigadier General Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. identified the victim’s attacker as Dionicio Dilubio, 23, of Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City.
A report gathered from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the QCPD showed that the suspect and the victim were both on board a passenger bus when they got engaged in a heated altercation resulting in a fist fight.
The two was later pacified by other passengers.
However, at about 8:30 pm, the victim along with his wife had just alighted from the said bus and was walking along EDSA Kamuning corner Kamias Rd., Brgy. West Avenue, when the suspect suddenly appeared from behind and struck the victim in the nape.
The victim fell to the ground unconscious.
He was rushed by his wife to the hospital but to no avail.
Operatives of District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) personnel who were patrolling in the area immediately responded and eventually apprehended the suspect.
During investigation, Rosales’s wife revealed that the victim had just undergone a by-pass heart surgery.
The suspect will be charged with murder before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Joselito T Esquivel Jr lauded the immediate response of the DMFB personnel that resulted in the arrest of the suspect. “Naaresto natin ang suspek pero nakakalungkot na sa isang simpleng pagtatalo ay nauwi sa pagkamatay ng tao ang ganitong pangyayari. Huwag sana nating pairalin ang init ng ulo at mas maigi na magisip ng makailang beses bago kumilos para makaiwas na makapagdulot ng kapahamakan sa ating sarili at sa ibang tao”.He added.###
