House bares 13th COVID-19 case

HOUSE Secretary General Atty. Jose Luis Montales on Saturday  announced the 13th confirmed coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) case in  the House of Representatives.

Montales said the 13th case is an internal security member of the House of Representatives who last reported for work on July 6.

“We were advised that a member of our security staff assigned at the  office and barracks of our Legislative Security Bureau (LSB) has  tested positive for COVID-19,” according to another important  announcement from Secretary General Atty. Jose Luis G. Montales sent  to House reporters.

Montales said the LSB member is now presently on home quarantine and contact tracing has been ongoing.

“Let’s remain calm, keep safe,” said Montales in his notice that was  sent to House members, officials, and employees.

Earlier, Montales revealed the 12th COVID-19 case of the institution,  an employee who works at the Internal Audit Department and last  reported  there on July 1.

The 12th case, a contractual employee, was exposed to a positive  employee of the Internal Audit Department, prompting the House of Representatives to close the office since July 2.

The 11th COVID-19 case is an employee of the House committee on justice  whose last presence at the Batasang Pambansa complex was on June 24 to  pick up some materials.
