Illegal meds seized at Ninoy Aquino International Airport

BUREAU of Customs and Port of NAIA operatives on Friday seized assorted unlabeled and labeled Chinese medicines concealed in plastic bags which were detected by x-ray at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

NAIA District Collector Mimel Talusan said Zhang Xin and  Huang Wen Cong from Guangzhou, China brought in the medicines without necessary permit from the Food and Drug Administration.

“The public is hereby forewarned that importation and exportation of pharmaceutical products without Food and Drug Administration clearance is a violation of R.A. 9711 or the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009 in relation to provisions of R.A. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act,” Talusan said.
