MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday said that a total of 204 individuals have been arrested for volation of the hard lockdown in District 1 in Tondo as of noontime of May 4.
Moreno also said swab tests are being done in order to isolate those who are possibly infected and have them contained in an area. Those confirmed are brought either to the Sta. Ana Hospital or the COVID facility at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
A report from Manila Police District (MPD) Director Gen. Rolando Miranda said those arrested are 181 males, eight women and 15 minors.
Moreno said the lockdown offenders were charged with violation of the curfew ordinance and the Bayanihan To Heal as One Act at the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
Miranda sent the violators home after they were processed and charged.
Earlier, MPD-Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (SMART) chief Maj. Jhun Ibay warned that based on the orders of Moreno, there will be no second chances for violators who will be caught in the two-day lockdown in Tondo 1.
The said district is consistently second to Sampaloc with the highest number of confirmed COVID cases.
