THE Manila Health Department (MHD) under the leadership of Dr. Arnold Pangan was commended by Mayor Isko Moreno for their role in fighting COVID-19.
Moreno also lauded Pangan for the department’s “WILD” (Waterborne illnesses, Influenza, Leptospirosis and Dengue) preventive campaign as it celebrated its 80th founding anniversary this month.
Pangan thanked Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna for all their support and assured that the MHD will always be on their toes to prevent the spread of deadly diseases.
The MHD is currently focused on taking care of COVID patients and asymptomatic cases in the 12 quarantine facilities. But he assured the public that medical consultations, medicines, vaccinations, anti-TB treatment and pre-natal services still continue in the city’s 47 health centers from Monday to Friday.
The MHD also launched the ‘ABAKADA’ or ‘Aksyon sa Barangy Kontra Droga.’
Pangan also reported that 8,689 persons were tested for COVID-19 during the lockdown of the 31 barangays over the weekend, including city employees as well.
