MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno bared plans to purchase 12 ‘life-saving’ ambulances that will be the best of its kind in the country.

He also said that the plans include having a separate ambulance that will be ready to serve those in need round-the-clock, or 24 hours a day.

According to Moreno, he and vice mayor Honey Lacuna, who also happens to be a doctor, sat down and thoroughly discussed the specifications of the said ambulances.

The mayor said they want to address the issue of  the ‘critical period’  in saving lives, or the window period which makes an emergency situation a matter of life and death.

For the use of the modern and fully-equipped ambulances, Moreno said the city government will be training health personnel who will be handling them professionally.

“When we do something, we do it efficiently, hindi ‘yung ‘mema’ o me magawa lang. We go for the best of everything as much as possible,” Moreno assured.

Alongside this, Moreno said the city will also come up with modern equipment and facilities in fulfillment of his agenda to boost the health care system of Manila.

“We have the best doctors pero pag ang kagamitan ay di na naaayon sa hamon ng panahon, bale-wala din,” he stressed.
