Thus, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno told trucking company owners, after the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) headed by Dennis Viaje towed 17 trucks illegally parked along R-10 in Tondo, Manila.
Moreno thanked Viaje’s team and the netizen who sent him the photos complete with details about how the trucks occupy the streets for parking purposes when it had been prohibited by the city government after Moreno assumed mayorship last year.
Di kayo makuha sa isang usapan daig nyo pa bata eh ang tatanda nyo na,” an irate Moreno told the truck owners concerned, noting that illegally parked trucks on R-10 will only cause accidents.
Moreno noted that the truck owners have been complaining that they were being mulcted.
Gustong-gusto nyo rin naglalagay eh, tapos magrereklamo kayo,” an irate Moreno said.
He also urged the netizens to continue sending their complaints, complete with pictures and videos, just like in the case of the said illegally-parked trucks.
The mayor lamented that while the city government had been coming up with measures to widen major thoroughfares, give them back to the motorists while ensuring the safety of the general public, unscrupulous truck owners eat up the streets with their illegal parking habits.
Bakit me nangongotong?
Moreno also lashed out at the truck owners who he said seem to mock the city government, thinking it does not have the ability to tow their trucks and is busy with the pandemic, stressing he will not hesitate to chop the trucks into pieces or pour acetylene on them.
