MAYOR Isko Moreno yesterday warned road contractors who will abandon diggings, equipment, temporary shelter and debris  will be blacklisted.

“Kung ang nasa contract period ay 120 days, tapusin ninyo ng 120 days. Sabihin ninyo yan sa mga contractors ninyo. Once extended, dagdag-perwisyo ‘yan. I don’t want to see their equipment on the streets when their contract period expires. They make us look stupid as if there is no government in Manila,” Moreno said during his meeting with the Manila Reintegration unit and representatives from national government agencies and private sector (infra/utilities group) including the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and service utility companies PLDT, Globe, Smart, Maynilad, Manila Water and Meralco.

Moreno said he will never approve any extension of their contract period but he promised them  swift processing of all licenses and permits.

Meanwhile, Moreno went to Recto Avenue and Juan Luna Street, accompanied by city engineer Armand Andres to spearhead the cleaning of sewers in preparation for the rainy days.
