Lacuna asks public to donate books to MCL

October 21, 2019

MANILA Vice Mayor Ma. Shielah ‘Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan yesterday appealed to the public to donate books to the Manila City Library (MCL) located on Taft Avenue in Ermita, Manila.

At yesterday’s flag-raising ceremony held at the Bonifacio Shrine beside the Manila City Hall, Lacuna said the MCL will be celebrating its 73rd anniversary on October 28 and will be giving away books as part of the events lined up in connection with its founding rites.

As such, Lacuna urged those who have more in life to donate or those who have books they no longer need to donate them to the MCL  so that others may have use for them.

Lacuna also announced that the executive budget for 2020 had already been passed by the city council, of which she is the presiding officer.

She assured that the funds of the city will be used properly and put in areas where they should really be.

Meanwhile, Lacuna called on all Manilans to grant the birthday wish of Mayor Isko Moreno for everyone to clean their surroundings beginning at 7 a.m. on October 24.
