TWO motorcycle-riding robbers shot and killed a driver of a lending company in Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur shortly after noon Thursday before fleeing with nearly P50,000 cash he and his fellow employee were carrying, police said.
The suspects armed with caliber .45 pistols escaped on board their motorbike after attacking Martiniano Magno,59, the official driver of the Life Bank Foundation Incorporated along the highway in Purok 2, Barangay Esperanza in Ramon Magsaysay town at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, said Police Regional Office 9 director, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D. Licup.
The official said the victim’s companion identified as Maria Theresa Galorio, 38, was unhurt in the incident.
An investigation showed that the two were stopped by the suspects who immediately declared a holdup before shooting the driver without any hesitation.
One of the robbers then grabbed the bag of Galorio containing their collection worth P49,775 before fleeing towards the direction of nearby Bgy. Poblacion.
Licup said he has ordered the local police to conduct a massive manhunt operation against the killer-robbers.
