A DEPRESSED construction worker who had been longing for his family in Cebu committed suicide by hanging himself inside a container van which was used as temporary barracks Wednesday evening in Malabon City.
The lifeless body of Jinggol Amarado, 36, native of Cebu and stay-in at MJ Legaspi Company located along Dulong Hernandez, Bgy. Catmon was discovered by his co-worker, Macario Cabrana, 35, at around 7 p.m. hanging inside their barracks with nylon belt looped around his neck and the other end tied at the container steel beam.
Cabriana immediately sought the assistance of policemen from Malabon Police Sub-Station 4 who responded to the scene and cordoned the area while waiting for homicide investigators.
Officers-on case P/MSgt. Julius Mabasa and P/SSgt. Jose Romeo Germinal said they have gathered information from witness Cabriana that the victim was suffering from severe depression and had been longing for his family after he failed to return home in Cebu due to the outbreak of COVID-19
