MORE than 160 grams of shabu was seized by authorities from an 18-year-old drug suspect who posed himself as agent of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following a raid on a suspected illegal gambling den Tuesday evening in Makati City.

Makati Police Chief Col. Rogelio Simon identified the arrested suspect as Anthony Ordoñez, of Block 132, Lot 7, Fortune St., Bgy. Rizal while six others who were caught in the act of engaging illegal gambling known as cara y cruz were identified as Regie Maraño, 51, Aries Vic Magarso, Jonathan Dionisio, Severino Fulgar, Keen William Santiago and Quilben Jakiri Pacheco, all resident of Magnolia St., Barangay Rizal.

Col. Simon said that earlier at around 4:45 p.m., they received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding the operation of an illegal gambling den along Riverside service road near the corner of Magnolia St.

Operatives of Intelligence Unit led by Capt. Judge Rowe Donato swooped down on the area and caught the suspects in the act of playing cara y cruz.

When the suspects were frisked, the lawmen recovered a total of 165 grams of shabu worth P1.2 million from Ordoñez while Maraño yielded another plastic sachet of shabu.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz lauded the Makati police under Col. Simon and added that they are still hunting down the brother of Ordoñez who was also involved in illegal drugs and allegedly posing himself as PDEA agent.
