Malapitan locks down Barangay 93 in Caloocan

CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan yesterday placed Barangay 93 in Grace Park East under lockdown due to rising cases of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 in the area.

Around 1,100 households will be affected by the lockdown which will take effect tomorrow Sunday, July 12 at 12:01 a.m. to 12 mid-night on July 18.

Mayor Oca said he decided to place the area on total lockdown after the City Health Department recorded 28 new cases of COVID-19 in the barangay.

During the one-week lockdown, residents will not be allowed to go out of their respective houses except for medical frontliners and those who need medical help.

Caloocan police chief Col. Dario Menor will deployed enough number of policemen in the area to ensure that everybody will follow the guidelines set by the local government.

Mayor Oca said the city government will perform swab testing in the barangay while personnel of the City Environmental and Management Office will conduct total disinfection and flushing.

The mayor added that the city government already prepared relief goods enough for one week that will be distributed for affected residents.
